Through the expertise of Andrea Mason/Architect, the Beehives & Buzzcuts Hair Salon for Kids was born. Among the countless interior design niches to be discovered and taken advantage of, this particular hospitality design is a must-go place where kids cannot only enjoy the atmosphere but the entire place as well. As the name implies, the walls are decorated with bees and butterflies.

The interior design is entirely colorful and this wonderful salon for kids is located in New York. The target market for the company is kids that are under 10 years old hence its distinct and unique design. The concept was to capture the attention of kids without compromising on its primary purpose – to cut hairs and make kids follow what adult beauty and fashion is like. Yet, there is nothing adult-like in the design. It has been developed according to the tastes and evokes the sleeping child within us.

The entire area has a playful sense complementing that of a child’s as it demonstrates nature perfectly. The custom wall graphic with illustrations like the garden and animals as well as the tree has been exclusively design so that the concept will be demonstrated keenly.

Also, the designers of the space have incorporated a colorful palette involving the laminates and linoleum flooring. These materials have been chosen according to their durability and simplicity, which essentially supports the function of the space.

This project is actually a renovation and transformation of an existing 3,000 square feet space to become an airy, fun-loving and colorful hair salon for kids and event space as well as a retail design.

The smart use of custom furniture such as the display shelves, reception desk, manicure tables and cabinets have all contributed to the modern beauty of the salon. They have been designed exclusively to complement the theme used for the project.
