The store design by Duccio Grassi Architects which ignited the interest of many is the MAX & Co. It is indeed a retail design that showcases the semi-circular screens where they hide garments behind. The semi-circular screens have jagged perforations which allowed you to catch a glimpse of their line of clothing. It is unique and complements the overall commercial design which is actually the focal point of the architecture.
Duccio Grassi Architects are retail design specialists who are based in Italy. They embraced the design project designated by the owners of MAX & Co.
They have incorporated brass frames with fillings of yellow, white and amber-colored panels which screened more clothes rails as well as the checkout for their design. The walls of the store space is clad with vertical timber beams which is attention captivating.
The modern architects prioritized the products therefore they design a store that allowed the products to become protagonists and the highlight of the shop. The concept therefore is to let the interior design become the stunning backdrop of the highlights. This design for retail was not compromised in any way. While the shop design is truly amazing and captivating, the priority to showcase the product comes first.
The architects understand what it means to design a shop that will attract customers and at the same time give them the urge to purchase from the products available. Since the product is the main event, the design should evolve from what’s stunning to what’s functional. The beautiful store is the answer to the “how” aspect of displaying the retailer’s products.
Through the jagged perforations, the exposure ignites curiosity of any customers visiting the store space. In addition, it is not just a space where you display the products but also a place where customers can relate to the space they are shopping at. Therefore, the design evolved from something that is simply retail to a design that will address people who give a shop meaning otherwise the design would be nothing.
This concept was implemented resulting to a store space where the products are not entirely visible at first glance thus there is a curiosity impact to the people. They are attracted by the stimulus and clues created by the perforations and the design. It is prepared with volumes made purely of attractive geometrical shapes. These volumes allowed fluidity of the space enabling light and people into the shop.
