Geometric chair is designed by Sadi Ozis during early 60s. It was an alternative experimentation of a dining chair which became very popular during those years. Originally, the idea was using water pipes for making the frame and using perforated metal sieve to form the seat and the backrest. After almost 50 years, Istanbul based design stuido karre, brought this timeless, avangarde piece to life using today’s materials, such as polished stainless steel or different colored powdercoated metal. It has two different versions available as chair and stool with no backrest, and geometric chair is suitable for outdoor use.
karre is a furniture and product design studio based in İstanbul, Turkey. Karre dates back to 1950’s when Sadi Ozis, Turkish designer, painter and sculptor started to design and produce the first metal furniture in Turkey in his metal atelier.
Although 60 years passed since then, these timeless designs are above all interior trends with their elegance and still fascinate appreciative eyes.
Having internalised design principles of Sadi Ozis, Karre studio continues creating custom and handcrafted products, furniture designs and applications.
